Pichincha Volcano, Ecuador
While living in Ecuador, Libby and I decided to hike up Quito’s local volcano, Pichincha. Many locals and tourists visit this area for the breathtaking views, however, tourists don’t move very fast or too far due to the effects of the altitude on the body. Quito is 9350 ft above sea level in contrast, Flin Flon is 997 ft above sea level. After living at this altitude for two years, we became accustomed to the height and capable of hiking further.
Here, a local couple enjoys a Sunday morning picnic overlooking an immense, patchwork valley.
